Meet Amelia

Who do you work with?

Everyone. Ironman athletes and those who might never have intentionally sweated before. Young’ uns and wizened souls. Moms who might leak a little when they sneeze. Dads wanting to fearlessly lead the anti “dad-bod” movement. Kids who hurt themselves do who knows what. Anyone who wants to age gracefully. People preparing for or recovering from surgery. Anyone trying to build self-confidence. I work with people of all colors, backgrounds, pronouns, and life circumstances.

Do you take insurance?

Sort-of! I do not take insurance directly as I am a cash-based practice. However, I can generate a “Super Bill”. No, I'm not talking about Superman's less successful cousin, Bill. It's a receipt of your cost for sessions that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. *Note, insurances have different policies on reimbursement, so, if you’re thinking of going that route, I suggest reaching out to your insurance company to understand their reimbursement rates.

How often do I need to come see you for PT?

Since my treatments are so targeted to the specifics of your body, 2-4 visits are usually all it takes. That said, all conditions and bodies heal differently. I’m very open to letting your body lead when it comes to determining a good therapeutic cadence.

Where do you work?

Depending on what works best, I’m currently seeing people in both my home, outdoor locations, and depending on location–even your own home! To best accommodate people, I also can work virtually. All pelvic health patients are seen in a clinical setting at the Southern Saddlery Building located at 3001 Broad Street.

Do I need a doctor’s referral for PT?

Nope! When PT school became a doctoral level program, In Tennessee Physical Therapists can treat patients for 90 days without another physician’s referral.

What conditions do you treat?

Miscellaneous Injuries Chronic pain Acute discomforts Preventing injury Preventing and healing pregnancy-related conditions Women’s Health: Diastasis Recti, Prolapse, Incontinence Pre and Post Surgical: spinal; knee, hip, shoulder, and ankle replacements, rotator cuff repairs, etc. Sports-related injuries: running, cycling, triathlon, lifting, swimming, dance, golf Vertigo (BPPV) Scoliosis I work with people of all colors, backgrounds, pronouns, and life circumstances.

What is dry needling?

It’s called “dry” because we don’t inject you with anything. It uses the same type of needles as acupuncture, the technique is just different. By putting a foreign object in your body, it creates a “flushing” response for the inflammation at the specific troublesome ligament, nerve, or tendon. It takes about 72 hours for the full effect to manifest. It's highly effective with just or 2 treatments! *Note, insurances have different policies on reimbursement, so, if you’re thinking of going that route, I suggest reaching out to your insurance company to understand their reimbursement rates.

What are your rates?

Everyone starts with a 1-hour $215 evaluation, whether you're a physical therapy or personal training patient. From there, we discuss your needs and goals and determine if a monthly subscription or per-session rate is a better fit for you! Sessions specific to dry needling are 30 minutes and $115.

What if I’m pregnant?

I love working with people pre and postpartum! If you’d like guidance and info but want an all-virtual experience visit Train4Birth.com
